After Care

Follow up – Our Advice

Following a massage, you should be sure to drink lots of water:

the most important element to massage after care is to re-hydrate, drink evening a pint and morning a pint of water at least but about 2 litres , for the ensuing 24 hours. Since massage promotes lymphatic movement, it is essential that you further promote the movement of toxins out of your system (through the kidneys) with sufficient water intake over the next day.

If you are a smoker please try to refrain from smoking for at least 2 hours after the massage session.

If we have done deeper work, we suggest you use an ice pack for 20 minutes on the treated area to reduce any inflammation; or make a warm bath or shower that night; this will minimise soreness you may feel the following day.

You can also put Epsom salt or Sea salt to your bath or use a muscle pain relieving gel, which you may choose to apply to the sore area.

Finally, treat yourself with loving kindness so that the benefits of your massage session are extended beyond the session.
